Privacy Policy

Gameday ("we", "us") makes a live scoring and team management app for baseball and softball
teams. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what control you have
over it. Plain language, no tricks.
The short version. We collect the minimum needed to run your team's games and
stats. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not share your data with
advertisers or data brokers. You can export or delete your team's data.
What we collect
Information you give us
-
Account details — an email address and password if you create an account.
Fans can watch without an account at all.
-
Team and roster information — team name, player names, jersey numbers,
positions, bats/throws, and any optional profile details a player or coach chooses to enter.
-
Game data — scores, plays, statistics, lineups, schedules, game locations,
and availability responses.
-
Messages — team chat messages, announcements and poll responses you send in
the app.
-
Optional uploads — a team logo, or files you import such as a schedule PDF or
a roster export from another app.
Information collected automatically
-
Basic technical data needed to run the service — device and browser type,
and error diagnostics when something breaks.
-
An anonymous identifier so viewers can follow a live game without signing up.
If you later create an account, that identifier is linked to it.
-
Push notification tokens, only if you turn on notifications.
We do not collect precise device location. Game locations are field names or
addresses that a coach types in.
How we use it
- To run the app — scoring, stats, standings, schedules, chat and notifications.
- To show your team's information to the people you invited to your team.
-
To generate optional AI features you trigger, such as game recaps and player insights. Those
requests are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the text and are not used to train
anyone's models.
- To fix bugs, keep the service secure, and prevent abuse.
- To contact you about your team or important changes to the service.
Who can see your data
-
Your team — people who join your team with your invite code can see the
roster, schedule, stats and chat for that team.
-
Your league — if your team is in a league, league standings and results are
visible to that league.
-
The public — only what a coach or player deliberately shares: a public team
or league page, a shareable player profile, or a link to a live game. These are off unless
someone turns them on.
-
Service providers — we use Google Firebase for hosting, authentication,
database and notifications, and Anthropic for AI features. They process data on our behalf
under their own security commitments. We don't have any other data sharing arrangements.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-context
behavioral advertising.
Children and youth players
Gameday is designed so that adults manage a minor's participation. Children do
not register themselves — a parent, guardian or coach adds a player to a roster. For players
under 18:
- Profiles, photos and shareable links are private by default.
- Public sharing of a minor's profile requires a parent or guardian to opt in.
- We collect only what the game needs, and never a minor's home address or school.
- The app does not create private one-to-one adult-to-child message channels.
-
A parent or guardian may review, correct or delete their child's information by contacting us
at the address below.
If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required
parental consent, we will delete it.
Your choices
-
Export. A coach can export a full season of stats as a CSV file at any time.
-
Correct. Roster, profile and game data can be edited in the app.
-
Delete. Email us to delete your account or a team's data. We'll confirm and
remove it, except anything we're required to keep.
-
Notifications. Push notifications are off until you turn them on, and can be
turned off in the app or your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or port
your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Contact us and we'll
honor them.
Data retention and security
We keep your team's data for as long as the team is active, because past seasons are the point.
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is
limited to what's needed to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we don't
collect anything we don't need, which is the best protection there is.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in
the app. Continuing to use Gameday after a change means you accept the updated policy.
