Delete your data

This page explains how to delete your Gameday Baseball and Gameday Softball account and data, what gets removed, and what we keep. Developer: Ryan Chapman.

Delete your account yourself, in the app

The fastest way, and it needs no email from us. Open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete my account. You'll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. It happens immediately and can't be undone.

This removes:

• Your account and sign-in
• Your profile — name, number, positions, photo, contact details
• Your membership in every team, and every team you follow
• Push notification tokens for your devices

It deliberately does not delete the teams themselves. A team's roster, games, play-by-play and season stats belong to everyone on it, not just to you, so deleting your account never wipes them for your teammates. If you scored for a team, that role is released so somebody else can take it.

Two things stay on purpose, and it is fairer to say so here than to surprise you:

• Photos and text on a team or league website. Those belong to the club that published them, not to your account, so removing your account does not take them down. Ask the coach or commissioner, or email us and we will.
• Consent forms and waivers you signed. A signature is the record of what somebody agreed to and when, which is the only reason a league keeps one. Deleting it on request would defeat the point, so it stays with the league that asked for it.

To delete a team, or if you can't get in

Most people never need this — deleting your account in the app, above, is the normal way and it happens immediately. Email us if you want a whole team removed, with its games, stats and history, or if you can't get into your account to do it yourself.

1. Email hello@thegamedayapp.com from the address on your Gameday account.
2. Put Delete my data in the subject line.
3. Tell us what to delete — your account, a specific team, or both. If you manage a team, say whether the team's roster, games and stats should go too.

We reply to confirm it's really you, then delete. Requests are handled within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What gets deleted when you email us

• Your account and profile — name, number, photo, bio, contact details
• Team membership, rosters and lineups you own
• Games, play-by-play, box scores and season stats for teams you delete
• Chat messages, polls and RSVPs you posted
• Photos on your own profile
• Push notification tokens for your devices

What we keep, and for how long

• Data belonging to other people. If you leave a team you don't own, the team's games and stats stay — they belong to the team, not to you. Your personal profile is still removed.
• Photos and words a club published on its team or league website. The club owns those. Ask them to take something down, or email us.
• Consent forms and waivers you signed, with the wording you agreed to and the date. That record is the reason the form exists, so it is not removed on request; it goes when the league's season records do.
• Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.
• Routine backups for up to 90 days, after which they expire on their own. Deleted data is not restored from them.

When you photograph a scorebook page so the app can read it, the picture is sent to our AI provider, turned into the numbers, and not kept as a file on your account — so there is nothing of it to delete later. What survives is the box score it produced, which belongs to the team like any other game.

Deleting the app isn't the same thing

Uninstalling removes the app and anything stored only on that device. If you were signed in, your account and any synced team data stay on our servers until you ask us to delete them using the steps above.
